Would you use Lucas Oil treatment....

in your SHO engine? I had this recommended to me today by a mechanic in the shop where my ski was being worked on. He also said Amsoil was a no no and not to use it although the ski has only had Yamalube run through it, I just have a couple of Amsoil decals on the ski that caught his attention.

The guys a moron Amsoil makes some of if not the best oil to use in watercraft! I'd take my ski elsewhere.

I'm not so sure about running something that has friction modifiers (which I'm assuming it does) in it through my ski if thats not a good thing.

Yep, Lucas is good stuff. I'm very curious what this mechanic has against Amsoil?

My best guess is a Yamaha dealer pushing Yamalube is all.

And that's not a bad thing. OE's spend millions of dollars on oil R&D.

I work for John Deere building Motor graders, and we had an issue with the hydraulic oil that was also used in end loaders, eating the brass in the hydraulic pumps we used. Changed oil formulation and haven't had a problem since. Moral of the story, is there's alot that goes into oil, and if you stick with OE oil, its just one less variable
