I know most have the TBM sterring. I was wondering if any of you have looked at Idiartec steering set up. Costs are about the same. This one has a shock absorber built into it. I can't afford to buy one and not like it, just to buy another. If there are any inherint problems I would like to know now. My kid is about 5-5 racing offshore, so the extension will not be needed.

Also can I start with the controls and add the base later?

If you go Tbm you can just buy the uppers and add the lower later it will cost you 50$ more doing it that way when and if you by the Bottom piece as you need and adapter. But just running the upper is fine. You can also check out the farthing set up its a pretty nice pice. I would not get anything with a shock.
