    loss of speed maybe???

    Hi guys

Just brought a 2005 RXT with some mods which are listed below

    • X Charger installed
    • 42lB injectors
    • 2 X Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulators BEGI
    • Walbro Fuel pump fitted
    • sponsons dropped by 23mm
    • Tuned stainless SOLAS prop
    • Riva racing blockoffs fitted
    • Riva Straight Through exhaust pipe
    • Custom made Waterbox exhaust shortened and baffles removed
    • 4" Air intake with supercharger adapter

Out on the sea yesterday i could only hit 59mph gps i didnt take any notice of the the RPM's as im a newbie and didnt realise thats what i needed to be looking at

My mate has a standard RXP and he was pulling on my on hole shot and also a couple of lengths on top speed i would have thought with these mods and supposedly running about 40 more horses it should have walked all over him.

It did seem to bog for a millisecound on hole shot. I have been informed that the prop is setup for winter so the trailing edge needs adjusting by a couple of mm would this be the reason and also read it could be the wear ring which hasnt been changed?

Any ideas of anything else on what to check look for please note i am a newbie and have never worked on a ski before but happy to give anything ago.

    Thanks

Since this is your first ski:
I would do some the basic things FIRST:
new plugs, oil and filter- use correct oil and put at correct level,
change out that worn wear ring , check/replace grease in jetpump, etc
Do the normal /easy regular maintenance items first. This will save you a lot of hassle.
Also, pay attention to RPMS and use GPS for speed measurement until you get an idea of
what the speedometer "really" means (some are way off)
