xp hood latch broke
2001 xp, the hood latch broke... but it wasnt the latch it was the plastic tab thats attached to the hood itself.. Ive tried using epoxy to reattach the plastic tab and i thought i had it but first time u drop the hood to let it latch by itself and it breaks. i dont know what to do, according to the dealerships website a new hood is $184.49.. I dont even know if you can still get the hood in the carbon fiber looking paint/wrap that the 01 has.. has anybody come up with a reall good way to fix this kind of problem ??? or know of a better epoxy..

Is it plastic?
If so take it to someone that can weld plastic. Might be worth a shot.

Stainless plate or Aluminum cut and shaped to suit and west marine epoxy and pop rivets would work .
I used this system on the hood from separating at the hinge at the front and hasn't moved for over 10 years.

I had a friend mention about plastic welding.. ill give that a try first.. i thought about the metal bracket in its place but I dont want to use rivets because then it would have to go through the hood and it would show on the outside..

You can prob find the hood piece on eBay, and if you can't find carbon fiber piece just get carbon fiber wrap and do it yourself.
