Thread: Anchor?

    Anchor?

Does anyone carry an anchor onboard their ski to anchor in deeper water as opposed to beaching it? If so, how big of an anchor are you carrying?

I personally do not because I don't plan on stopping anywhere where I can't get off my ski and hang out. There have also been cases where anchors have caused damage from bouncing around in the hull. If you get one, make sure you get a padded anchor bag for it. Lastly, jet skis generally don't have a lot of extra room so an anchor may prohibit you from taking something else that you may use more often. I suppose it all depends where you ride.

    Welcome to the Hulk.

I just use one of those screw-in anchors for dogs. I tie a small plastic bottle to the end of the rope and use a snap shackle to attach the 'Ski.

Thanks for the replies. I'd like to get a small anchor or weight bag instead of beaching. I'm paranoid about sucking something up into the ski.

i bought the 3.75 # anchor for 28 bucks on amamzon and use it for fishing in the river and seems to work good as long as your not in the real heavy current spots ...its a grappple that folds and has a padded bag and small room to store

Ive been using a coopers anchor for some time now, the advantages are its plastic/nylon so it wont scratch your storage compartment, does not require any length of chain and ive had more than one ski anchored up at the same time and its holds well. Even comes in pink for the yamaha owners.

Yeah blue is what I have but dont say it too loud. The seadoo and yammie riders think it only comes in pink.
