FZS how do i get the impeller off?????

A friend of mine brought over his FZS to change out the intake grate and replace a damaged impeller. How the hell does the impeller come off???????? We had 2 big wrenches on it and it wouldn't move.

With the pump assy on LEFT and shaft going to right , wrench on impeller nut , spline holding tool in vise secured apply some heat to cone of impeller at blade root about 2 inches in . Get a breaker bar or double length a wrench and apply Upward pressure. If ur set up with pump on right go downward but in my set up it equals busted knuckles! Clean threads , apply anti- seize to threads install and torque.

    here is another option

    on driveway

with the pump assembly on right

shaft going to left, using a box end crescent wrench on spline holding tool, position the shaft holding tool and the end of the wrench under a car tire

step on 2nd box end crescent wrench which is on impeller tool

use heat or cheater bar as described above if needed

if that does not work and it still doesn't come off, remove the shaft from the pump and apply heat to the rear of the prop so the heat goes straight to the root of the hub where the threads are, that usually loosens them, use a lot of copper grease when you refit.

And what happens if the piece of shit still won't budge?????? We are getting really close to ruining the hex on the impeller. We have a tight fitting wrench on the impeller, yet the torque we are applying is trying to round off the hex.

If after everything it still won't come off I have seen where people had to cut it off. Be sure to use a ton of antiseize when you put the new one on.

Sell me the whole ski for $50 delivered and then u won't have to worry ! Have you tried applying heat? Try some break free or PB blaster and let it sit??? I know on my skat the hex tool needs to be tapped in to the prop and leaves no gap . More leverage?
