    So are the crank sections for each cylinder isolated from each other?

    I was just wondering if it is possible to remove the exhaust manifold and test each cylinder, and its associated section of the crank area, independently? Leak down test I mean.

    I was puzzling over the manual and can't really tell. But it would seem they would have to be, right?

    From my rebuild experience (2 now, 3rd on the way) The cylinders are essentially independent but do not have any gaskets or seals that prevent air exchange in between them. I don't think you would be able to pressurize just one cylinder at a time, but have not tried it so can't confirm. The crank bearings are providing the seal, but it is metal on metal, unless they are set in loctite or some kind of sealant. None of the cases I have split have been set in sealant.
