    melted ground wire

Well i had my battery unhooked and when i went to connect it back up at the marina I found out that case had bounced around and grounded out on the battery. So it ran my battery dead and melted the small ground wire. Can you replace just this wire? If so where can i get one at or can i use regular wire?

If you're lucky you can just replace the wire. (normal wire is fine)

Then get the plastic cover that sits between the battery and the elec. box to prevent this exact thing.

Check the other black wires inside the electrical box and the black wire to the stator.

Its melted all the way to the grommet. I haven't pulled apart the box yet but does that wire just feed through the grommet or is it part of the wire? And i will check the other wires while i have it apart also.

You will most likely need to replace the wire all the way up to the elec. stator (magneto)

Did you ohm test the stator wires after the repairs?
