'06 RXP - Stator and Wear Ring Replacement Cost

Is $1600 high to replace a pump stator and wear ring? I'm familiar with the wear ring, but not so much the stator.

The skiis just came out of winter storage and I had an issue right from start-up. Not reaching full speed and vibration. I was leaning toward supercharger. I shut down immediately and this is the dealer diagnosis.

What rpms are you getting??? I would pull the pump and check the prop and wear ring, could be as easy as that... Maybe something got stuck in there, there are many options you can try before paying a dealer 1600dollars... What speed are you seeing, what rpm? When does the vibration start, rpm?

Probably got 5600-6000 RPM before I figured out something was wrong. Vibration kicked in around the same time and I shut it down. Its already at the dealer.

Dealer says that stator fins are missing/damaged and wear ring is chewed up. Issue was not present during winterization and ski was always in deeper water for the entire 4 minutes at the boat ramp/lake. Something happened between the time we winterized and getting into open water.

All I have at this point is a mixed voicemail from the dealer about broken stator fins and a torn up wear ring... stating that its about 12 hours work to complete, which seems super high to me.

I'm digging for info before I call back as it didn't make a ton of sense.

My best guess is that they're talking about the stator plate that's behind the impeller.

yea the pump shoe is labor intensive to replace most people just cut out and smooth out where the fins where instead or replacing the pump shoe.

Replacing a pump and wear ring is about a 2-3hr job at most. If they cant do it in less time than I can, they shouldnt even be operating a business. A new pump is a spendy part but wear rings are cheap and easy

    P/N: 271001546.

Cant imagine that takes 12 hours to pull out and put back in.... or that that would cause me to lose RPM.

depends if they are talking about the pump or the pump shoe?

the stator is actually inside the engine. so I'm not sure what they are talking about.

    number 32 is the stator.
