    1997 Sea Doo challenger 1800

Hello all! I'm curious what anyone's experience has been with the Sea Doo challenger 1800 boats. I have 2 nice Kawasaki jet skis that a gentleman wants to trade his boat for. Im into this pair way less than he is that boat. I have rebuilds on kawasakis, but never on ANYTHING like a sea doo rotary motor. I'm hoping someone can give me some insight into these boats & whether or not to do the trade. The seats are rough in his boat, but usable. And he said he's been on the lake several times this year, until the reverse cable broke last weekend, which he is fixing. He swears it's lake ready. HELP?. I'm just trying to do right by my family.

The only thing that you really need to be aware about these old boats is the obscene amount of gas they burn. They burn like 25 gallons per hour WOT, and like 15 gals per hour just cruising around. That's more than twice the gas than my 350 HP wakeboard boat burns.

I really appreciate the info. I really didn't want to trade. That made up my mind. Thanks so much
