    richning the carb

    What is the simplest way to richen up the carb?

    Know what model machine you're riding would be helpful. You may wish to fill out your signature.

    Turning the needle adjustments counterclockwise will richen the mixture. Generally they're external on the carb, and usually there's a high and low adjustment, although not on all carbs.

    You need to read the accelorator removal write up oside did, its a sticky in here. they will have tamper proof caps that you have to remove.

    The actual simplest way is to pull the choke on. Next best but a lot more work is to do the mod listed above. I wish I had done it years ago on mine, it is really a hugh improvement in performance, plus a greatly reduced risk of engine damage from lean-out. For most, if you have several years on the boat, its time to clean and rebuild the carbs anyway. Its not like a car, where you can run a dirty carb until the car won't run, on a 2-stroke a dirty carb will cost you major engine damage.
