    Can I swap gauges (98XL 1200 nonpv) for 01 SUV 1200 nonpv)?

I am parting out a 98 XL1200 and the gauge display is not as thrashed as the one on one of my SUVs. Wondering if these two skis have interchangable displays if anyone happens to know. they look damn similar but how do I know ultimately? Is it as simple as...If all of the wires plug in...good to go?

The one with aqua surround is the SUV and the one with the red surround is the XL for what it is worth? The aqua one is not mine pictured below...just an example. The red one is mine. Or does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 98 XL1200 gauges that I can compare against my SUV shop manual?

If you already have them, give it a try. Yamaha stuff is more standardized than most know. I have a XLT gauge pack for my GPR cause I like 2 gauges with bigger and easier to read numbers on the tach, plus it has a gauge for oil level. Guess what? The oil level sender on the GPR which only triggers a light works just fine for the level gauge on the XLT gauges.
