2000 Polaris Genesis engine noise..need some help.

I have a 2000 Genesis FFI that I had put back together, I put fuel in it and it fired right up and idled at 1200 rpms. I hit the throttle and it reved up nice and is ready for the water...but it sounds like there is a top end knock at idle, rev it up and it pretty much goes away. Is that normal to hear a sort of a knocking sound with those big injectors sitting on top of the head? Any help would be great.

Without hearing the sound in person it is hard to say.

When the hull is in the water the jet pump and exhaust will be quieter so you can listen to the engine more clearly.

The injector's do make a 'clicking' sound as they fire on each power stroke.
