    Swapping Impeller Housing

I have a 2007 Seadoo GTI SE 155 with 161hrs. Sucked in some trash and cracked the plastic impeller housing. I have been reading post for days and the general consensus is to switch to an aluminum housing. I have ordered a new aluminum housing, new seals, o-rings and wear ring. I am gonna use my impeller shaft and bearing which seems in great shape. My impeller has a few nicks and one of the edges is curled about .125 Do I "clean up" the used impeller, leave it alone or buy a new one?? If I switch impellers the question is OEM or Solas or ???? This is an all stock machine which is used for family, tubing and 2-3 kids riding it at one time. Thanks in advance!!

Send it to Glen at Skat-Trak. He will charge you about 80 bucks and it will be as good as new. I would order a new bearing set as getting the old one out isn't easy. You can simply press the new set in and assemble with new seals and such.

I checked out Skat-Trak's web site and that looks like the route I am gonna take. Thanks for the heads up!! I have already pressed the old bearing out of the housing and it appears in great shape so I am gonna reuse it and the impeller shaft. When I started researching a new pump housing, impeller, etc.....It seemed a little overwhelming but this site is a life saver. The search option is your friend!!

The housing and all the parts came in yesterday. I put it all back together which was no problem at all....just downloaded a shop manual and it was a piece of cake. The new aluminum housing appears really well built and I cannot wait to try it out. Its gonna be the first of next week before I can hit the lake but I will give ya a report on the new aluminum housing.
