Question 300x Maintenance versus SeaDoo RXT-X

I'm looking into buying a new watercraft after owning a GP1200R and GP1300R. I have narrowed it down to either the RXT-X and the 300x. I like the braking/reverse of the SeaDoo, but the Kawa has more features like the 5mph mode, cruise control, boarding step, and more storage/fuel space.

What is the maintenance like on the 300x? I know that the RXT-X needs the SC rebuilt every 100h, but it looks like the 300x only needs to have the SC fogged after each day of riding.

Can someone please give me a breakdown of what I would expect in terms of maintenance costs for a typical summer? I'd like to get a feel for how many dealer trips will be needed each summer.

Note that I live in Pittsburgh, so I only have about 5-6 months per year of riding on the weekends... and it will be almost exclusively river riding, with the exception of an occasional trip to Erie.

    Thanks for the help!

Seadoo charger rebuilds are at 200 hrs on 2010 and newer skis.

The Maintenance on the 300 based on what and where u said you would be

    Oil change every 20 hrs
    Oil filter every 40 hrs
    Plugs every 80-100 hrs
    Exhaust filter 40-50 hrs
Pump bearing every 100 hrs Just to be safe
    Sc does not need servicing
Belt no one knows at this point but its looking like well over the 150 hr mark for rec riding and
Fog the sc every other ride or before a long storage
There's really not to much in the way of maintenance so far they have proven to be reliable when. Not messed with.
    Good luck in your search.

I can't speak for the RXt but here's what I have done so far on the 300:

    1) Fog every ride..went through a can of fogging oil for the last summer season... (6 bucks)
    2) Oil change and filter at 20 hrs (kawi says 25 but I like to do it around 20)....(80 bucks)
    3) Replace exhaust filter and gaskets at dealer (130 bucks)

If you decide to go Kawi 300, go to Davis Kawisaki (Butler on 422) and talk to Brian in Service, he does everything for my ski, great dealership.

Hope you come to the green side

    My maintenace schedule has been:

    Break-in oil changes at 2, 5, 10, and 20 h
Tighten all hose clamps at 5, 10, and 20 h
Replace coolant hoses (*they were very soft*)
    Remove exhaust filter
Inspect pump at 20 h, install new wear ring and solas prop

I don't use fogging oil but I do start up and run the engine every two weeks minimum.
