2011 RXT-260 No Steering
I have a 2011 RXT-260. It suddenly lost steering and I am stuck up at the lake with no shop manual. I checked the jet pump outlet and everything is good there. It is either a broken cable (hope not, the ski is new) or the bolt came loose at the handlebar bellcrank. I need some advice on how to get to the connection at the handlebars without tearing them up. Any help will be appreciated.

You should be able to look up into the front storage compartment and see the "arm" (which is attached to the steering column) that swings to moves your cable . Sounds like the bolts may have come out. Its a pretty simple design.

thanks Stuckmoto. I figured it out. Had to open the storage compartment and remove the back of the instrument cluster. Then remove the cluster and it is right there. It looks like it was loose since new There was wear on the plastic opposite the bolt head. There isn't clearance for the bolt to come out unless the steering is full right. My guess is that today was just the day everything fell into place for the bolt to come out. It doesn't look like there was any threadlock on the bolt. I found the bolt and the washer near the cable attachment point. I didn't find the nut and it doesn't look like there was any way for it to fall out of the compartment so my guess is they just forgot it during assembly. Anyway, a quick trip to Lowes for a 6mmX1.0 nut and 10 minutes assembly and we are back in business.
