97 yamaha wave raider water streams

On my 97 wave raider i have 2 exit holes for the water from the pump. My 91 yamaha vrx 650 shoots the water out of the back into the air. My 97 750 has 2 exit holes one on left side and one in rear, the one in rear doesnt spray water but like 6 inches off the floor and the one on side sprays far, any ideas why and can i make one on back shoot higher without harming ski??

the one that shoots in the air out the back is just a visibility spout, not important.
