    FZS, Exhaust deadening rubber in transom

    Do you guys reinstall the rubber sound deadening thats in the back by the pump, the pieces that are attached to the ride plate?

    doesn't that also get utilized in the reverse process and water intrusion??

    That was the first thing I removed.
    Be sure and keep the bracket that supports the pump though.

    Thanks for the quick replies, I assumed I could leave it out. Just wanted to make sure.

    Ditched mine pretty much right away. My stock exhaust is blocked off since I'm running a thru hull but I figured the rubber back there was pointless from the get go and made access more of a pain than anything.

    Its only purpose is noise suppresion. It works really good for collecting crap in it though.
