    Polaris virage dying

Just bought a 2002 virage 700 with carb. Guy I bought it from said it ran great. Wrong it runs like crap.
Runs on the trailer but the min it's in the water it only idles. The min you give it gas it dies out. It will restart and then die again when giving throttle. I have already cleaned the gas lines of all the orange gunk replaced spark plugs with the correct plugs. Also the gauges are completely died. Looks like LCD screen got water in it. Starting to regret buying this jet ski. If anybody has any ideas please let me know. Luckly I only paid $1100 for jet ski and trailer. Also it seems to run good for a couple if mins until I turn it off to dock it. Then restart it and it will run like crap dying out.

Have you did a compression check?
Does that ski have a TPS sensor?

After compression check, you probably want to replace the grey tempo fuel lines if it still has them and clean the carb. If you believe the display is a problem you can bypass it. The instructions and a whole lot of other useful stuff is posted as a link on the bottom of K447's signature. (http://polarispwcknowledge.shorturl.com/)

I already cleaned the carbs and made sure all the jets are clean so the next thing I will try is to bypass the gauges. Thanks.

Per my signature links disconnect the bad MFI display. You will need to install a bypass jumper in the connector.

Sometimes a bad display can cause running problems.

One more question. Will the gauges from a 2003 virage 800 fit on my 2002 virage 700
