    XLT1200 carb screws...can't budge.

Was going thru carbs on newly aquired ski. Drilled out the brass caps over the adjustment screws, went smoothly with no issues. However, I can hardly move the low speed screws, mayber an 1/8 turn max and they stop either direction. I'm afraid if I put any more pressure on them I'll ruin the slot in the brass. Any ideas? Anyone encounter this before? The high speed adjustment is no problem at all.

The screws on the highs are brass and the screws on the lows are stainless steel. if you mess the up the highs you can hang it up as far as adjusting them. if you mess up the lows you can drill them and with some patience you can get them out with a small ease out. At least that is what i did. you can drill the brass highs but when you try to use a ease out it will most likely split and ruin the carb.
