Weird problem GPR pump, prop or ???

I have a weird hesitation out of the hole. I take off normal then hit the trrottle to go and the motor jumps to 7k but the ski goes almost no where so I back off and gently get into it then it takes off fine pulls hard. The trim nose up helps a little but not much. I have pulled the pump out looked at eveything, clearance looks good no damage on the end of the pump shaft and prop is good. I have a pump shoe kit installed. I changed the prop to a 4 blade 1300 and my problem is still there although a little better. Is it possible my midshaft is worn? I don't hear any bad noise like grinding or anything just the motor screamin when it does it.

either someone put an aftermarket 800 intake grate on it, or the pump shoe felt blew out.

It has a R+D grate that I put on it. First time out no problems, second time is when it started. I did see some felt looking stuff hangin down now that you mention it. I have a pump shoe kit installed do I need the felt you are talking about? And if so where do I get it and more importanly where does it go?

    Thumbs up

Here are the pics of my pump anything missing? I was planning on cleaning the 5200 off once I was sure it was all going to stay on there.Click image for larger version.

it wont be there. Its where the pump mates to the hull. Under the ride plate.

So I need to put some sealant or felt or whatever there right? I know for sure there is nothing there. When I pulled all that out I didn't see anything but metal where it meets the hull.

have you measured the prop to wear ring clearance with a feeler gauge just to make sure its not that?

Yes. I don't have the numbers with me but they are good.

#2 and #5 I assume are what you are talking about. I think I pulled #2 out (what was left) when I did the pump shoe seal kit.

Correct. Make sure you do a good job. The first time i had an issue like you are discribing the shop had to redo it like three times. Ofcoarse now i do my own work so i know its done right plus its cheaper.
