    another Which Prop? post

As of now my setup for summer '07 will be xspower intercooler, 3" air intake and everything else stock except for the free mods. Should i go with a 3 blade or 4 blade prop and what pitch? 3 blade 14/19 or 4 blade 15/20?
Riding temps throughout the season are usually 70-90° but i ride in cooler weather like 45°, not much higher than 90° though. Water temp is usually 65-80°
and i pulled 8100 rpms stock in almost everything, never higher than 8100 even in cold temps but went as low as 7950 on hottest days.

Is that the same hose I run 82+ with on my stock exhaust? I've never heard of anyone gaining rpm's or speed with free flow exhaust.... i dont think any good will be seen unless ehxaust manifold is improved. Just my .02

I was thinking a 14/19R or the 13/18 swirl with a little pitch added if neccessary. I've ran both & the swirl was about .5
mph slower but got to top speed faster & was more aggressive all around over the concord. But this 4 stroke is new to me so I may be wrong.

BTW, I have a prop FS..

Yes, it may need tweaking but an A/M intercooled engine typically could spin that prop. I think 14/19 is strictly stage 1. This is based off of the 32 thousand threads I have read here, not personal experience...

i say a 15/20, i'm not a big fan of the 3 blade sure it has a better hole shot i haven't seen any improvement on top end with the ones i've seen run but i have seen the 3 blade props break some people have good luck with them, but 4 me i'll stay clear of them 4 now

I had a 3 blade fold on me last week. It was a 1st gen prop & the 2nd Gen. props have been fixed by skat by adding thickness to the blades. I got my replacement prop back in & it is thicker from the outer edge to the middle. I found the 13/18 repitched to 13/17.5 on my Stg1 was the sweet spot on that prop. 71.8 @ 8100rpm. The 13/18 was good for my Stg 1.5 setup. If you run in chop & want hook up but be .5 - 1mph slower than the 4 blade on top go Swirl
If you ride in flat to small chop & want top speed = concord. I have a few threads on the props.

i read that merc made a thiner prop with a stronger metal 4 there outdrive and pick up speed, i'm thinking by making the 3 blade thicker 4 more strengh u'll give up some speed how much idon't know maybe none just a thought

A thinner blade would flex more making it expand to a larger pitch. There's no room in a pump housing for that kind of flex. Thats why the skat folded. It would lightly hit the wear ring at high rpm & eventually weaken & give up. Hmm, a smaller OD on the prop allowing some flex might be a good top ender 'eh?
