    ? on update kit for hurricane

    ive read people having trouble with timing after updating there ignition with new flywheel and stator. my ? is if you align the flyweel key or compare the magnet to the original clocking cant you prevent this?

    NO, the difference is in the programming or position of the sensors in the stator hub. For example, when I did my SLH kit, the flywheel is keyed, so there is no way to rotate it, and the magnets never were adjusted, yet I needed to advance the timing. To further my point, I temp installed another upgraded CDI to make sure It worked after I purchased it, and the timing was 4 degrees different! Remember, I just swapped the CDI, never touched as much as a single bolt on the flywheel cover.
