Fixed my 07 gauge cluster (water)

I had taken my ski's down to Sebastian Inlet, Fl and while riding I noticed that I had a lot of condensation in my cluster. I rode a little while longer and the cluster went out completely, The ski ran perfect, just no gauges. The water inside the gauge was about 4 to 5 table spoons full, a good amount. I got home after riding a couple more days and took the cluster off the ski. I drilled the clear part of the gauge right at the the side clip catches for the bezel (3/32" bit) on the face side of the catch so the bezel would still work. Drained the water by using my compressor (low pressure). It blew the water out the other hole I drilled and the vent hole in the back. (If I did it again only one hole would be drilled due to vent hole) I then put 4 or 5 table spoons of alcohol in the gauge swished it around and blew it out again. I put the gauge in a bag of rice in the direct sunlight for a day, took it out, filled the holes with clear silicon and plugged it in and it worked perfect. (for how long I don't know)

    Wow.
I've spent $1000s on moisture in guages.

I never thought to try to fix them. Now I will.
    Thanks for the info!!!!

That's unbelievable, my 2007 slowly started to lose the lcds on the guage with no visible crack, now the whole front of the clear plastic lens has a massive crack. have to replace abot 550 for part and 1 1/2 hr for labor. ski has 180 hrs ridden in rough seas with wave jumping. ski functions, but hope hi temp alarms still function.......ride on
