2005 RXT Purchase ??
My friend has a opportunity to purchase a used 2005 RXT for$6500.
Approx. 40+ hrs. It has motor has been replaced & the owner has all the legit paper work to show this. My question is do they replace the oil pump when doing a engine replacement?? Is this a good offer/price. We plane on pulling the SC and replacing with ceramics if he does purchase it. I though for 6500 it was a good price. Your comments guys.

yea it's a great deal.... depends if the new motor was complete block or just a short block warranty job...
worst case scenario, you replace the oil pumps.. they really aren't all that expensive or hard to replace, so at 6500 it's still a GREAT deal in my opinion
WORST CASE... metal washers and oil pumps and he's into the ski for like $7000 after the precautionary measures... high chances are the oil pumps are fine tho
is it STILL under warranty?
do me a favor... get the VIN # from the machine, i'll see if i can help you out with more info on it

Hi Shib..thnaks for the quick reply The owner said it was a complete short block. Boat is no longer under warranty so assuming he went with the standard one yr. I can probably get the Vin#
edit they did replace the oil pump & SC (all new)

typically speaking short block means no cylinder head, no covers and oil pumps.... BUT, the term complete short lock gets thrown around often, and more often than not i've seen Seadoo warranty complete DROP IN long blocks
try and get the VIN # for me and PM it to me, we'll see what we can find out.... i still think it's a great deal regardless personally... just up to you if you want to get involved with a machine without warranty.
for another 750 bucks or so... i know where you can get a mint condition 05 RXT with warranty still on it... scratch that, your in Cali
