Ok guys i just picked up my second polaris sl this year this one is going to need some TLC and hopefully a little help from the GH guys. Ok so here it is I got this ski for dirt... 250 the guy thought it had low compression well he was correct, the 2 rear cyl's look good but the front one is toast. I guess it got a little too hot in there ... anyone have any idea as to why. I thought maybe th oil line was bad kinked or something.

Because i really dont know a whole lot about these ski's i thought I would post some pics and pick some brains ... Please help this ski is almost mint other than the burnt piston jugs the other 2 look really clean and the ski is very clean almost like they never used it i do need a mfd if anyone has one for a descent price i dont believe 300 bucks is a normal price sorry just dont see it. thanks everyone

where are you located? I noticed the Wisconsin registration on the ski. That piston looks like iit ran lean. Could be carb issue or an air leak most likely.

appleton wi . i sorta thought that like maybe there was some kind of issue in the carb but then i remebered everyone talking about the oil pumps going out but i dont think that would do that kind of damage do you think i could replace the piston and rebuild the carbs and go or should i check more into it

You need to make a wrist pin removal tool....These things are hard on wrist pins removal without it.

There are round clips holding the pins in. You need to remove one of them, and do as Blackwoodz said and get a wrist pin removal tool. It is not difficult to fab one, the directions are searchable here on GH.....
