New to the forum and new FZR!

Hi am new to the forum and new to the sport. I just picked up a new 2012 FZR and love it. I have read about the bucking issue so I ordered the R&D intake grate and pump seal kit today. Next I plan on doing the intake mod and maybe a cold air intake. Wouldn't a CAI make it easier for the engine to suck in water if turned over in the water? If I do these two mods would I need to reflash the ecm? I am not looking to make a lot of power, I just want to let the engine breathe easier. Are there any other mods I should do to make the ski better and possibly more reliable? I have read that bov/surge protectors help save the clutch. Is a bov needed on a stock ski or is that more for modded ski? Thanks for an awesome forum and any replies or suggestions.

I love it!!! The power and handling are awesome. It likes to drink the gas though lol. I will post some pics in the morning. The black and red looks so good together, one of the best looking skis on the water. You won't regret buying it, awesome machine.

A CAI is a good mod a to do and it will not make it eaiser to injest water if done correctly. Also look at the easy and cheep exhaust mod. http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...st+w%2Fo+noise Tommy Jordan

Congrats on the new ski and welcome to the HULK, you also need to do the MANIFOLD UPGRADE for the engine to get more air in, You will not need to flash your ECU yet.

where are you in East TN? a group of us just rode the clinch river last week it looked like a yamaha show as all 6 of us had yamahas

also here is what I did as soon as I got mine
    1- R&D intake grate
    2- VX ride plate
    3- Custom air intake
4- Ribbon delete (requires a little work as maifold has to be removed)
    5- Free flow exhaust mod

do these and ride that thing like you stole it, if you get the need for more speed there are lots of option just ask and there are lots of guys on here that can help

hope we can meet up and ride we are mostly in middle TN but do ride center hill and dale hollow and a few trips to Knoxville area

I am from the Tri-Cities area. Boone Lake is where I ride mostly, very busy lake. The R&D intake grate and pump seal kit should be here next week. The Ribbon delete will be next. Should I get a bov to help protect the clutch or is that unnecessary? Thanks for the info.

GET IT.... the HKS BOV or Tial would protect your clutch.
