    Cavatation finally gone! WHOO HOO

I have been chasing the cavitation issues for sometime now on my racing 06 RXP,
I put in the S/S wear ring in and noticed that the clearance was much closer than with the stock wear ring,
Tested the ski yesterday and the difference was like night and day,
The cavitation was Gone, the ski really jumps out of the water on dead stop starts,
The bellows band and the S/S wear ring were the key,

    thanks for everyones help,

I am running a 15/20 solas and I am getting right at 8600 rpms with that rotax racing ecu,
I bought the one from Jimmys Jet sports, for $99.00, it even has the etched arrow to show the direction of installation,

Yea, did this before. Had to drill two holes through the protruding edges of the ring on opposite sides (not much room), install two bolts attached to a short chain, rig up a chain hoist, freeze the pump assembly, remove from freezer and quickly rig it up for pulling, tighten down on the rigging and add a little heat to the pump (bam, popped right out).

i can see how guys say it will be hard to get out but you got to remember if it slid in there it will slide out with the right persuasion. i think you should post a little video of it coming out of the hole so we can see

Hopefully you'll never have to take out a stainless ring

Did you replace the Neoprene Jet pump seal while re-installing the pump? Maybe it was pinched prior to installing and re installing

Make sure your pump bearings are good or you will wear that prop down quick smart.

yes I also replaced the neoprene seal, the old one had a crease in it, hopefully this will be the trick to get a good hole shot off the race line,
