    2001 GP1200R D-plate missing?

    I just picked up a 2001 1200GPR, that won't run past 4000-5000 RPM, and 25 MPH. My first thought was the carb, so I pulled that, to have it rebuilt. It looked pretty clean though from the outside anyway, but I figured while I had it apart, I would check out the D-plate that I assumed was installed, because the sensor has been cut, and the chip installed. When I took the exhaust apart, What I found was just a plate with a circle opening in the middle? Is this mean that someone did not actually install a d-plate? Would the current plate installed affect my performance? There is no Cat con installed, just what you see in the picture below.

    yes. you need a d-plate

    Isn't that plate some other form of the D-plate? It's just a restricted circle instead of a D. Or am I not seeing that right?

    yes i found out, its another alternative plate made by jetworks, and should work just fine.
