    PullTube?Gp1300R

Just bought a 2004 GP1300R. Everything works fine if just riding on lake. Problems start when towing a tube. Can pull a tube for about 15min and then sensors go off. Heat/Temp sensor flashes along with warning light and then it starts beeping.
Again, this never happens when I just ride w/o pulling a tube. Once my son 135lbs or daughter 90lbs get on a tube it seems like it starts to run hot.
Can I pull tubes with this machine? It does not have a tow hook.

Grateful for any ideas/suggestions or tips.

    Thanks in advance.

These skis weren't meant to pull tubes. And probably need to install a dplate and chip your exhaust is heating up due to crappy cat con. Need to pull it, after that is installed It should be ok I have heard of people pulling tubes with these skis.

Thanks for the info. The dealer that sold it assured me that it would pull tubes. Just my luck.

Can you give me some info on the dplate and chip. Where do I find it? Pricey? EZ or difficult to install?

    Thanks again.

1300 CC is more than enough to pull a tube (I do it with my wife's 700 Virage just fine) but you're just overheating.

Take note that 1 and 2-up machines are not legal to tow with almost everywhere, BTW.

Tell your dealer hes an idiot! Technicaly not legal to pull a tube with the GPR. Its a 3 person process legally. So you need a certified 3 seater ski. One driving, one reversed on the back spotting and the one riding on the tube, you have to have a seat open for number three even though they are on the tube!

Kinda odd how you could get factory(??) tow points for the 2 seaters really...

Lucky in Australia we're allowed to tow (i'm pretty sure!!) with two seaters....

Fully legal in europe, and yes, 1300 has plenty of power to pull the tube.

You can contact member WFO ( wfoperformance.net) for a Dplate and chip

The dplate replaces the cat, and the chip lets the computer think the cat temps are all-right...

I just got pulled over by the Ontario Provincial Police and checked last weekend while towing with my wife's Virage - apparently it didn't look like a 3 seater from a distance - sure glad the sticker is still on the stern.
