1996 Seadoo spx wont start after sitting on water

Hi all, I am new to Green Hulk I have a 1996 Seadoo spx that starts right up on land and will start when first placed on water but if it sits on the water for any length of time is almost impossible to restart. I can crank on it till the battery goes dead. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks!

Thanks for the help! Is this common for the older doos? I rebuilt and cleaned carbs/ changed fuel lines over 2 seasons ago but didn't replace the needle and seats.

Sounds like you may have a needle seat leaking or too much rotary vavle clearness.
