    Speedometer not working

We have a 96 SLTX and the speedometer quit working over the 4th, just showed 00.0. Then today we took it out and it worked for about 10 minutes and then again read 00.0.

We looked at the service manual and found info on a pitot tube, but, not where to find the pioto tubeit or if it is what gives the speedometer it's read out.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

Pitot is directly under the drive shaft in the "intake area". (small white plastic "fin" mounted on underside of hull.) Make sure the hole is unobstructed and facing forward. There's a 1/4" I.D. clear rubber hose that supplies water pressure to the MFD for speed readings. Make sure it's not kinked or damaged.
