    Need help on 96 XP

Am trying to help a friend figure out what is wrong with his ski. This ski has had the motor rebuilt has new coil and it just stalls out, we have switched the carbs and checked the jets that were in it and they are the 142.5 jets. At WOT the ski just stalls out but if you feather the throttle it will clear out but you can't hold it at WOT for long period of time as it just stalls out again. Even in turns it wants to stall out but you have to feather the throttle really fast in order to help it going good and strong but as soon as you stop feathering the throttle it just doesn't want to go anywhere. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Have you done the fuel system cleaning? If youve swapped carbs and it still does it, then the problem is either electrical or the fuel system pre carbs.

Have you tried switching from on to res on the selector valve to see if the problem persists or goes away?

If you haven't yet done the system cleaning and replacing the stock fuel lines start there. There is a sticky at the top of the page that is very informative and in great detail to help you out.

Let us know if any of the above has been done so we can further help you in the right direction.

How do you go about checking the vacuum and pressure of the fuel pump? If it were to be a electrical issue what might it be? I have not changed the fuel lines from the fuel pump to the carbs yet I am getting ready to work on that later this week. Thanks again for all the input and idesa

So are you saying that you replaced the carbs with a different set of carbs and it did the same thing again.

That is what it reads - thus don't think it is a carb issue, but rather a pre-carb issue..
