Help With XL800 not accelerating
I sold my jet ski to have the people buy come right back and say the jet ski will not accelerate. The engine runs fine, however there was a loud whirring wound and when you give the wave runner the jet ski does not accelerate with the RPMS, it basically sits still when I gas it and the whirring sound gets louder. I just removed the jet pump and it moves freely an the teeth on the external drive shaft are fine and the impeller is attached to driveshaft, but has a little gouging in the pump but it spins freely and would not complete stop the ski from accelerating . What could cause this disconnect to make the wave runner feel as it it was in neutral with that sound? Possible Center bearing

Can you post pics of the splines, the impeller, and the wear ring. those would be the most likely suspects if the pump wasn't clogged up with seaweed.

Did the splines in the intermediate shaft sheer?

Thanks for the replies!!! I figured it out. The intermediate bearing shaft splines where stripped out.
