    FZR Rear Seat Bracket

With the rear seat off there are a few torx looking bolts that hold on the plastic rear seat bracket. The problem is the bolts are not normal torx bolts, they have a metal stem in the middle of the bolt so a normal torx bit will not fit in the bolt. What tool are you all using to remove these bolts. Sorry for the ignorance, I have only had the ski 2 weeks. Thanks for any info.

yep, tamper proof torx. I think it's a size t-27, Been awhile. The underside is a round brass nut encased in plastic that will turn as you turn the top. You'll need to hold it with vise grips. Some people have success at this. I molested mine to the point they were no longer round. I cut the brass nut out and replaced with stainless hex bolts, washers and nylon insert lock nuts.

you can pick up the torx bits at home depot or lowes..http://www.homedepot.com/buy/husky-t...et-385650.html

No it's a T-40. Just took the little bogger of last weekend.

I broke the little stud off so i could use a normal torx bit. Stainless is brittle.

I used a nail set to break mine off, but if you want the proper Torx bits, Sears handles the Lisle hollow torx bits.

I got tired of messing with them, so I replaced them with ss allens from Ace hardware.

I use a small pair of vice grips to take off those torx bolts. Works everytime.
