    Question Pump Rattle

I was flushing my 300 after riding last weekend while my friend's rxt is also being flushed (skis are running)

I could help but notice the "rattle" coming from my 300 (the pump or impeller)....is this normal?

I have 56 hrs and just did 50 hr service at the dealer, check impeller (torque to spec) and pulled pump.

Any thoughts or am I just going crazy?

its the chatter in the splines did you grease it up good when you reinstalled, funny thing is when you install the solas the rattle all but disappears, my guess is the nylon cone keeps a tighter fit and stops the rattle

The dealer did my service and he is very experienced (20years on kawi skis) so I am assuming he greased it.

I have the warranty, do you think its an issue worthy taking the ski in for...runs great btw

    No grease =rattle
    Greased spines = quietness

    You work the rest out

If the cause of the rattle not found to be the "no grease on the spline", you may want to check the pump nozzle tightness.

Next time you are running the engine on the trailer on a garden hose, hold tight the nozzle by hand and see if the rattling noise goes away.
If so, install a couple of thin nylon washers between the nozzle and the pivont bolt/washer area, one at the top and another one at the bottom.

It only last a little while then comes back. I greased mine up like warren at a boy bar.
