Thread: The itch...

    The itch...

    ...got it's first scratch today.

I finally joined the ranks, albeit modestly.

Got my SC installed w/ washers(thanks GH), a new SS wear ring, 2* wedge and a Riva grate.

    Up next...skegs and a 4" intake...maybe a new prop...which one?

Got to thinking though, while I was fumbling around in the cold putting the pump back on...why would an RXP need a wedge? It can trim the nozzle...can't it? Not enough?...just curious.

Im not an expert but i think its better because it trims the whole venturi up instead of just the steering nozzle. but i could be wrong.

Exactly. It allows the bow to trim up even more without loosing pump efficiency (because of the wedge's placement between the stator and venturi), even though you will still loose efficiency when the trim is set more than 2 notches above neutral.
