    Backflip

I have been watching the X-Games on ESPN and these guys are doing backflips on snow mobiles. I can remember when the first guys were doing them on Dirt Bikes, but was amazed to see the Snowmobiles doing them. has anyone serioulsy or just messing around tried to get their sit down to do a backflip...

Is the angle of the jet not capable of throwing the ski that far around...I bet if I try, I will end up with the ski coming down on me....But then the snowmobile(weighing like 500Lbs) I think would have been hard to flip also...Maybe they practiced jumping into a foam pit?

The rotating mass of the snowmobile track will greatly aid the sleds ability to rotate and do a back flip. Same is true with a moto-X bike.

With a SeaDoo, there is no such mechanism. You need to get the ski rotating from a wave or have a hell of a wedge installed to get the rotation started. After that, hope you have enough height to complete the rotation.

I will get one this year. It will take another 2 degree wedge as I lose momentum.

Those are very light sleds. Prolly like what, 440cc engines in them like snocross sleds with awesome power/weight ratio. Im gonna venture a guess that the snocross and freestyle sleds weigh about 400lbs or a little under dry. Thats versus our 600 lb plus skis.

I mean heck, most 600cc twin 2 smoker rec sleds now are weighing about 470~480 lbs dry.

Alright, thanks for the clarification, but still there is a huge size and weight difference between that sled and our skis. Its a lot lighter.

No problem. True True. I do not know who is going to try a backflip with a Sea-Doo or a sit down any time soon. Who knows there are some crazy people out there. I just thought it was cool to see someone do it on a sled. They have only been doing it for about 2 years.
