2009 RXT X carbon seal replacement

New guy here and I have a couple of questions.

    1. Do you have to pull the engine to replace the carbon seal on the rxt x?

    2. How many book hours would the dealer charge to make this repair.

Dont mind paying the fair value for repairs just following our old presidents line, trust but verify.

    Thanks in advance

No you don't need to pull the engine.
My mechanic can do it in less than 2 hours labor.
Don't bend over in the stealership they will surely stick you.

So you think that 1100.00 would be unreasonable?

Holy s**t. You could nearly fly me over to the US and back for that price!! I'll do it for free

To do the whole job, you're looking at about $120 or so in parts. Depending on if your shaft if corroded, it can be a bit of a PITA. Even still, I don't think it would be justifiable to charge anymore than 3-4 hours labor.

Too late when I posted the repairs were already complete. They show 8 hours labor on the ticket.
