Opas removal @ impeller boot assembly

Ok so I'm changing my wear ring and I noticed on the drive shaft it looks like the impeller boot assembly is just sliding up and down the shaft. Does it screw onto the back of the impeller and does grease go In there. Also what type of gear oil should I put in the cone and or the boot assembly if it takes it. Pump is apart just waiting on you guys. Thank you. Also one more thing anything I should seal or clean before putting the pump back. Thanks again. Also one thing can I just disconnect the opas system until the block off come in. I'm gonna leave the paddles in. Just wanna disconnect it. N

The prop nose cone screws onto the prop (it is left hand tread). It should not have been able to walk up and down the shaft.
Put grease on the driveshaft splines to prevent corrosion.

If you are changing over to oil in the pump cone, you will need to use a synthetic gear oil. Clean out as much of the existing grease in the cone and on the bearing as possible.
