Oh oh. 2007 Challenger 180 -215 HP SCIC

All was good until we had to rev engine to get boat onto lift ...

May have sucked some sand into engine as it has not been running normally last couple of times out ...

Boat revs up and down without moving throttle whether set at low or high rpm's.

Hoping not supercharger - any comments please???

    Thanks in advance.

I think a number of possibilities could be bad gas, bad spark plugs, supercharger losing tension, or a leaking intercooler. Do you have metal washers in your supercharger?

OEM washers so I assume ceramic ...

07 might just be metal but worth checking.

Do you think it is some sand or ceramic washer issue? Remember all was good until engine revved in <3 feet water ... Engine tach / rpm now bouncing up and down, example 6000 to 6500 rpm without moving throttle lever ... also some pinging sounds from engine at medium 4000 rpm speed ... Very puzzling ...

Thinking back, believe it is water in gasoline as we forgot to put cap back on when refueling last time. Guess we'll know for certain when gas tank is refilled next time ...

Change the washers on the s/c.
It's very very expensive when they break.

It's not a matter of if they will break but when ..
