    Just got the Stage 2

You guys can't have all the fun. Temptation has gotten the better of me. Riva Stage 2 on the way. Figure these are great mods to get more reliable speed. Ran a best of 71 so far with 1/3 tank. If I see 75 I would be smiling. This time I plan to run without the nose cone before bending the prop. Can't wait to get rid of those side wings (OPAS) That stock intercooler got to be a bitch to get out.

    Riva Stage 1
    Metal Washers
    1mm out of the 14/19
    No nose cone
    Filled Ride Plate Holes
    Reverse bucket mod
    Finger Throttle

Try getting the intercooler out without loosening the manifold. Mine on an 06, came right out no problem.

If your stock air intake system is out already it will not be hard. My 06 came out pretty easy just had to pull a bit right at the last couple inches... I dont see why ya shouldnt do 75 in the cool. Now the heat will bring ya down a little. Usually the stage 2 RXP's down here in the heat run 73-74 MAX. A RR ECU and a RR sc impeller will keep you 75 + any wheather. Save your money it will be worth it! Add skegs and a the right prop ya shoukld go 80-81 in the cool 77-79 in the heat considering that you are a skilled rider....Why do you feel the opas need to be removed? Just curious? I still have mine along with stock sponsons & exhaust system.....

OPAS adds DRAG, thus slowing you down, in some cases you can pick up almost 1mph with them removed...Handling can also be improved with them removed, combined with sponsons...

If they were off, he could have been flirting with 72...

I know that I porpoise REALLY BAD now and the RE's are supposed to fix that. I've got more speed but can't break 71 without jumping out of the water. If not they'll be in the classifieds, but I doubt that'll be a problem

    OPAS=the suck

Not true. no speed gain on RXP removing OPAS, maybe on the three seaters. I saw 0 gain when I took mine off. Handled different, but NO speed gain.

    OPAS

Ever since I put in the wedge, I have fallen out with the OPAS.
I had issues lining up the bracket with the turnbuckles and had to fabricate new holes in the bracket to suit. Its always in the way when removing the pump and seems to have alot of useless play in the linkages.
The main reason to remove it is to fit the rear exhaust system.

Same here. I was more consistent with my top speed...able to maintain it for longer periods.
