replacing stator on 1997 900 polaris

    Hey all:
I just got my cdi/stator update kit and I am wondering if it is easier to take the motor out or to take the gas tank, oil tank out. I just replaced my 1993 750 stator by removing the gas tank/ oil tank and cutting out the support in front of the stator and I am wondering if its easier to remove the motor on these things. Is re-aligning the pump that big a deal without the tool? I know I tried to re-align my boat inboard/outboard a few years ago and it was a bitch without the alignment tool. Thanks in advance

If you do not have the alignment tools I wouldn't advise pulling the engine.

No....the twins and triples do not use the same kit. Who told you this?

I can't make out the part numbers, but it does look like the paper says "Hurricane" on it, which means that's for a twin. There will be a trigger coil missing and the CDI won't have the 3rd wire to go to the ignition coil....among other differences.

The twin kit should also come with a new coil.
