First mods to do?
11 300x now at 12 hours....running like a champ. What are the suggested first couple of mods? Speed mode and ride plate? What really makes sense? Running in mile to smooth water most of the time, nothing salt water. What do you guys think?

The best mod is to strengthen the weakness of the ski.
To start, there is a couple of cooling hoses that should be replaced.
Do a search.

For starters know that any time you change anything from the way you got it off the showroom floor you are taking matters into your own hands. Not that all parts are dangerous but I am just saying it is no longer the way who ever the Mfg was designed it.
That being said, as MGM stated those hoses are a place to start. Be sure when you reinstall them you do not catch the raised stop of the barb with the hose clamp or the hose can pop off.
Now for the answer to your question but again you have been told there could be a risk. Before you change the ride plate to any of the aftermarket ones add an SCOM for safety. My personal feeling of the best combo at the moment is the one that is common knowledge and what most of the 300s have
R&D Plate and grate
SCOM either R&D or Riva

Don't forget when you place your order to enter coupon code greenhulk for 10% off your Riva and R&D parts.
Contact Impros.com for your impeller. They are who I purchace all my impellers from and do all of my impeller and pump work. I HIGHLY recommend them.
