'07 250x upgrade to '10 pistons, 4º or 6º timing advance?
I'm in the process of upgrading my '07 250x with '10 pistons, rings, etc. I've searched extensively regarding timing advance - obviously 6º is OK for it with '07 pistons, but I read that no more than 4º is recommended for '10 260x engines. What I can't find is if it is just because of the higher compression ratio of the '10 260x pistons or does the '10 ignition also have more timing built into it from the factory? I have a TBM front engine cover that has 2-6º adjustability. I'm also running the original '07 ignition, a 1:1 pulley, Walbro fuel pump, Aeromotive fuel reg (rock-solid at at 48psi) and stock injectors. Would you guys recommend 4º or would 6º be OK with the '07 CDI?
THANKS in advance

personally had 9.5:1 pistons and 1-1 and 4 & 6 degrees timing setups on my 07 250x ecu on our 98 octane ( AUS )
I would just run 4 and be done with it , and if you are going to a place in the middle of summer and u think u cant get good octane fuel run stock timing till u come home to good fuel
