Cure for Gelcoat stress cracks?
I've been looking at my ski today & see that I have loads of stress cracks in the gelcoat. These seem to be around the area where the seat meets the hull, towards the rear of the ski.
I'm thinking I'm going to have to remove the decals, grind out the cracks & fill the area. Then it's down to spraying the deck to match.
I guess I've got 2 questions:
1. Has anyone else tackled this problem before? If so, how did it go?
2. Any idea on a suitable paint code for a 2001 Virage TX White?
I've had a look around & so far think that a peugeot bianca white is as close as I can get, but if anyone has found a closer match, I can get it mixed.
I'm UK based, but I'm sure that a reputable paint shop can find a code for a US manufacturers colour.......
Don't really want to have to paint the whole ski, as it wastes valuable water time, so any suggestions gratefully received.
