    loctite alternative

    What's a good alternative for loctite 545 ?

Is there a particular reason you don't want to use Locktite? In the firearms community, we use a product called "Rockset" for high-heat applications, such as flash suppressors, or other muzzle devices (suppressor mounts, gas blocks, etc) because those items get VERY hot, with much sustained fire.

It doesn't soften with heat, and holds roughly as strong. If it weren't for the need for high-heat applications, I can't think of any reason I wouldn't just rather use Locktite. It cleans up a lot easier, and is easy to remove when you actually WANT TO (just hit it with some heat).

I use locktite on everything that DOESN'T require heat resistance (scope mounts, grip screws, castle nuts, light mounts, etc.).

My bad. I just realized, 545 is the sealant. I was thinking of 262, not 545. Sorry!
