2004 GTX SC 4 tec overhaul. High comp pistons or no
Hi all, Im rebuilding my GTX SC with only 50hrs on the clock. 10 were by me, turns out the guy that owned it before me hydro'd the engine at some point and pistons dont last too long with a bent rod. Anyway, I was planning on boring it .5mm over and was wondering if the high comp pistons would be of much benifit. Same price as the low comp. I have the 185hp engine and im wasnt going to change the SC so I would still have the stock boost pressure. I believe 4psi, no charge air cooler. Would I get too much knocking on premium? Also, any tips or tricks particular to rebuilding these engines would be greatly appreciated.
