    Aftermarket bars for VXR

I would really like to change the stock bars, but the Riva system is the only one available that I am aware of. $400+ seems steep and it appears that the install is a huge project. Does anyone know if there will be a system available that will utilize the stock mounts?

None that I'm aware of. I have the Riva system installed on my VXR. Yes it's expensive, but the quality and look of the thing is top notch. Install isn't that hard.

Jerry could you post close up pics of your bars? Are they completely sealed up or could water get in anywhere with the Riva system? The only pics I've seen look like it leaves a large opening at the base of the system.

    Thanks!

I asked Jerry about the Farthing handlebars fitting the stock mounts. Awaiting his reply.

If someone made bars that fit the stock mounts they'd make a killing

In the past, we'd just got get some dirt bike bars. Renthal has always had something that would fit my older skis. Although that V shape might present a problem.

Sorry I'm just getting back to you on this. They do not fit the stock steering stem!

I just took these pictures from the water a few minutes ago. I was out testing my new MoTeC logging dash
All this with the stock/reflashed ECU. Talk about cool stuff!

Yes it leaves an opening around the steering, but that doesn't hurt anything. Any water that comes in runs out the sides of the cowl. I've never had a problem.

Jerry - is that display able to fit in the stock hole without any mods? Def would like to get one if it's a simple install.

Did you add a riser Jerry? I bought one since it looked like the bars were gonna sit low.

$400+ for handle bars. Wow that seems steep. What about just removing the stock bars (and all the plastic around them) and welding a horizontal cross bar then re-painting them. throw a pad on them and call it good. Just a thought. I don't know exactly what the bars and the bar connections look like without all that plastic junk around them though. It may be a little getto...
