Totalled my ski :(
ok guys i must be the unluckiest or luckiest guy in the world, i organised on another forum im on a weekend trip away, 19 skis on the saturday and 15 on the sunday a trip i have done many times before a weekend trip away on an inland river covering over 300km. the river was up and we were fully awhere of logs and rubbish in the water. in brief an rxpx ripped the bottom from his ski on the saturday by a submerged stump or log very near to the embankment. sunday it was my turn whilst riding beside my cousin with his wife on the back on their 300x, i thought i was filming them, turns out my camera failed to record damn here's why, we rounded a corner side by side straightened up my gps showing 112kph then i spotted this enormous redgum log rising up from the chop to late to do anything i collided with it sending me straight up into space my cuz swears on his mothers grave i was atleast 10-15m in the air my ski flipped over and myself being thrown from the ski doing full body cartwheels. i was in the air for what seemed like an eternity i had plenty of time to prepare for my landing thinking will i survive this and hoping that i will surface with my head above the water. i hit the water apparently head first beside the ski (i thought i went in feet first) i tumbled rolled and flipped eventually getting my head to the surface and taking a deep breath thinking thank fuk i survived and yippeee i can move (for now) my cuz and his wife witnessed the whole ride. i swung on the bars to come back to me thinking i was dead his wife was thrown from there ski, i gave him the thumbs up and he retrieved his wife. i collected my belongings tied a rope onto the ski before it sunk and waited for the next ski to come along and tie on to tow it to our lunch stop which was only 3km away. the ski eventually sank so we hooked up two skis to tow my now submarined ski eventually it would right itself and get above water again. eventually got it to the ramp and inspected the damage, it was split from front to rear engine has been pushed up through the seats air box and intake in a million pieces wiring loom and battery tore to pieces hence why my bilge didnt work lol, hood torn, RHS cowl torn off, LHS front gone, actually not much left that isnt damaged in some way any way im alive very sore and lucky to be here. i guess a new ski is on the cards

Sorry for your loss. That sounds like a major get off so at least you came out unscathed body wise. Hopefully kawi makes some changes for the 2013 model so that can be a silver lining and u can be the first to get one.
Be careful out there guys!
